The FSQATS logo was created for the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technical Services team as their department logo. The QA is highlighted as quality assurance encompasses the brand name and helps distinguish the coupling letters "fs", "qa" and "ts". The department ensures food safety by examining and taking a closer look at procedures while also informing the community of best practices.
The uppercase letters provide a secure, reliable, and protective personality while the colours and angles create a friendly, approachable entity. The department logo is meant to be an extension of the Maple Leaf brand.
Some concepts included the plate, spoon, and fork to visually create a shield, reminiscent of warning and safety signs.
